What's New with LFTX

2024 Learning Forward Annual Conference Updates 

Learning Forward Texas is planning engaging sessions, informative speakers, and opportunities to connect and learn with colleagues during the 32nd Annual Conference. The only conference in Texas focused on Professional Learning will be held on June 10 - 12, 2024, at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, Texas.

Pre-registration is closed

Onsite registration will be available.

 

Online pre-registration is closed, but have no fear. You can still attend the conference by registering onsite.  Onsite registration will be available June 10 at 8:30 am in the Gallery of the Hurst Conference Center. Bring a check or credit card, and we can send you on your way to an unforgettable learning experience.

Virtual Learning Session

Virtual Course: Power Up Your Math Community, K-5

Mathematical proficiency is more important than ever before to our students’ success in school and life. Measures of student achievement in mathematics, however, show a need for a new approach to improving math teaching and learning. This course will support school leaders, instructional coaches, and teacher leaders in creating a year-long plan to strengthen their school’s mathematics program through curriculum-based professional learning.

This two-hour virtual course will be offered on the following dates:

  • Thursday, August 1, 9:00-11:00 am

  • Thursday, August 8, 4:00-6:00 pm

  • Tuesday, September 10, 9:00-11:00 am

Participants in this virtual course will receive a copy of the new book Power Up Your Math Community: A 10-Month Guide to Practice-Based Professional Learning, K-5.

Regional Affiliates 

Regional Affiliates will meet up during the Exhibitor Reception

on Tuesday, June 11, 4:30 pm at the Annual Conference. 

The Learning Forward Texas Regional Affiliates are meetings hosted and planned by local school district professional learning leaders. Based on feedback from participants, the leaders determine the topics. All regional affiliates are working on their schedules for the fall. Watch for more information in the July and August newsletters. 
 

  • LFNTX - The last meeting of the year was held on May 10 in Richardson ISD. Thank you to Richardson ISD for hosting - Building and Growing Through their Learner Framework ​

  • LFCTX  - LFCTX has no other meetings this year.  

  • LFSETX -  LFSETX would like to hear from you.  ​Please respond to the attached survey to join us for the 2024-2025 school year. Your feedback will help us plan our September 20, 2024, Kick-Off event in Cy-Fair. Watch your email for an invitation in late July. Click here to sign-up for their email list.

  • LFWTX - LFWTX is forming a steering committee to plan upcoming meetings.

The May 22 National Title II-A Day of Action successfully activated educators from around the U.S. to send messages en masse to their Congress members urging their support for an increase in funding for Title II-A.
